Last Friday was probably one of the most stressful days I’ve ever had at my place of employment.
I was on my way home from work thinking and daydreaming about my day.
I still had a lot of things to do but I was already over my hours for the day and just wanted to go home. There are a lot of calls that still needed to be made and a lot of filing to do, but I forced myself to leave work and head home. On my way home I saw an HVAC van broken down on the side of the road. Since I am a professional automobile mechanic I decided to pull over and see what the issue was. I got talking to the HVAC technician and he told me that he was on his way to do a free estimate for a home. He had to get there immediately before he looked bad and received a fine from the HVAC company. I asked him, “Does the HVAC company really fine you for being late to an appointment?” He said, “Yes they do.” I told him to not worry since I was an automobile mechanic so I could write him a slip stating that he got service from me. Therefore I went back to work to grab one of our books and started to do maintenance work on his van. He was so grateful that I helped him, and he gave me a coupon for 10% off the next time I have an HVAC maintenance appointment. The HVAC technician also gave me his business card and told me that he is available 7 days a week since the HVAC company has 24/7 emergency service.
