I have owned companies and worked for other people, and I now care about the latter. Today I’ll talk about Heating, Ventilation, and A/C techs and what it takes to become one. Becoming an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C worker requires both technical knowledge and hands-on experience. To get started, one should obtain a high university diploma or equivalent, and complete a vocational training program or an apprenticeship… Vocational universitys or trade universitys offer Heating, Ventilation, and A/C programs that supply students with the technical skills necessary to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system units. These programs usually last between 6 to 12 months and include both classroom instruction and hands-on training. Apprenticeships are another path to becoming an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C Technician. These programs combine on-the-job training with classroom instruction and supply students with the opportunity to work with experienced Heating, Ventilation, and A/C Technicians and learn from them. Apprenticeships correctly last 3 to 5 years. In addition to vocational training or apprenticeships, Heating, Ventilation, and A/C Technicians must also be licensed by the state in which they work. To obtain a license, one must pass an exam that covers the upgrade and service of Heating, Ventilation, and A/C systems.
