I cannot guess how much my life has changed in the last few years.
At that point, I was working full-time in a professional career and settling down to be married to the cherish of my life.
This week, I am happily single and returning to school in an actually modern industry. If you’re wondering, I celebrate that separation every single afternoon. When my buddy and I were together things were not easily as beautiful as I thought. It took a lot of therapy for me to realize that. Namely, my ex was severely controlling and abusive. He would emotionally manipulate me through strange means, including the heating and cooling system in our house. If that makes no sense, let me explain how an Heating and A/C system can contribute to domestic abuse. Whenever my ex would become aggravated with me he was cheerful to leverage the indoor air quality against me. He had installed a smart temperature control in our house when my buddy and I first moved in. At the time, I was happy that the smart temperature control would save us some currency on our energy bills and Heating and A/C wear and tear. I entirely didn’t cherish paying high repair bills for the heating and cooling system when it inevitably broke down. I looked forward to monitoring our heating and cooling health through the smart temperature control. Instead, my ex used the air quality control equipment to control me. If he was aggravated with me he would lock the temperature control so I couldn’t make any Heating and A/C adjustments. I would get trapped in the house with incredibly high uneven temperatures and humidity while he went out and did whatever he wanted. Looking back, I do not know how I put up with this overheated situation for so long. But I cherish having control of my own Heating and A/C system.
